CIP4 publishes a new version of the Quality Control ICS documents
Quality Control ICS 2.2 published
The latest releases of the Quality Control ICS (version 2.2) have been published.
The Quality Control ICS (Interoperability Conformance Specifications) documents are focused upon automation, providing real-time densitometry, registration, and other print-quality related metrics to the MIS system and print customer for real-time job monitoring and reporting.
There are two versions of the ICS: Customer to Quality Control and MIS to Quality Control.
The Customer to Quality Control ICS enables definition of quality targets from the Customer to a Print Provider as well as the transport of quality control measurement summaries from the Print Provider to the Customer.
ICS documents typically manage the interoperability between low-level "workers" as they relate the more grand workflow automation scheme that an MIS manages. The MIS to Quality Control ICS manages the communications of job quality information and can keep an XJDF-enabled MIS informed to the quality aspect of the print product as a job is in production.
As are all CIP4 published specifications, the Customer to Quality Control is freely available for download here and the MIS to Quality Control is freely available for download here.
