Welcome! Let me please first introduce myself as the moderator of the English-language Printing Industries of America Automation Solutions Network. This group is different than the online forums managed by CIP4 in other languages, in that this group meets periodically face-to-face for two-day events where printers using JDF share information, identify and address common issues, and learn new ideas and techniques. The Printing Industries of America Automation Solutions Network is lead by an Executive Steering Committee formed exclusively of printers. Although vendors of graphic arts systems and software are welcome to participate, the Automation Solutions Network is first and foremost just that, a users group. Unlike many users group, this group is not dedicated to the equipment of just one vendor; rather, this group focused on print production automation. There is an emphasis on JDF-enabled systems and software, but as you'll learn from other members, automation may include non-JDF elements of production, and with few exceptions, as printers incorporate process automation, they must also deal with legacy systems that may not be automated at all. It's all part of the challenge of making the move to a highly efficient automated workflow and one of reasons why many printers will find the Automation Solutions Network to be a valuable investment, and one of the reasons why Printing Industries of America has taken on the responsibility of managing the Automation Solutions Network. CIP4 has agreed to support the Automation Solutions Network for two reasons. Of course, CIP4's mission is to help foster the adoption of process automation in the printing industry and is the standards organization responsible for JDF, but CIP4 is also interested in learning more about what printers learn and experience. CIP4 understands that printers may discover process automation needs and issues that the developers behind JDF have not considered. For that reason, CIP4 is also maintaining liaison with the Automation Solutions Network and facilitating communication with the many technical committees responsible for JDF. Registration is required to join the Automation Solutions Network and there is a fee. For members of Printing Industries of America and CIP4 there is a discount, as well as a discount for overseas companies that have no North American offices and cannot reasonably be expected to attend face-to-face meetings of the Automation Solutions Network. Liebe Besucher, willkommen hier im Anwenderforum der CIP4 Organisation. Mein Name ist Christian Anschütz und als Moderator freue ich mich, Sie hier begrüßen zu können. Warum dieses Forum ? Seit seiner ersten Vorstellung auf der DRUPA 2000 kann sich das Job Definition Format (JDF) über einen wirklich beachtenswerten Erfolg in der graphischen Industrie freuen. Aus dem ersten Entwurf ist ein vielbeachtetes, leistungsfähiges Datenformat geworden. Alle grossen Hersteller sind heute Mitglieder unserer CIP4 -Organisation und haben sich daran gemacht, die Vision computerintegrierter Fertigung mit innovativen, JDF-basierten Produkten in die Tat umzusetzen. CIP4 hat dabei von Anfang an auf die Einbeziehung der Anwender gesetzt und bringt dies zum Beispiel durch sein Angebot einer preisgünstigen, privilegierten CIP4 - Mitgliedschaft zum Ausdruck. Ich lade Sie als Drucker, Prepressdienstleister oder Weiterverarbeiter dazu ein, Ihre Erfahrungen mit den Mitgliedern von CIP4 teilen und durch Ihre Anforderungen sicherstellen, dass sich die JDF Entwicklung immer an den Anforderungen aus der Praxis orientiert. Genau dies ist auch das Ziel dieses Forums. Sie müssen dabei selbst kein XML Experte oder Programmierer sein, wenn Sie hier Ihre Erfahrungen aus der täglichen Produktion mit den anderen Forenmitgliedern diskutieren wollen. Mesdames, Messieurs, J'ai l'honneur et le plaisir de vous annoncer que je serai l'animateur de ce Forum Des Utilisateurs Francophones de JDF. Depuis son lancement public au cours de la DRUPA 2000, le JDF (Job Definition Format) est devenu un des standards les plus importants de l'industrie des arts graphiques. L'association CIP4 s'est considérablement renforcée ces dernières années , jusqu'� regrouper aujourd'hui plus de 300 membres, dont plus d'un cinquième constitué d'utilisateurs innovants : des imprimeurs, des imprimeurs numériques, des entreprises de prépresse ou de fa輟nnage, des agences ou des éditeurs� et vous-m麥e ! Les objectifs du forum Afin d'impliquer plus activement les utilisateurs dans le développement de JDF, et de mieux conna羡re leurs besoins, CIP4 a créé ce forum dédié au public francophone. Gr稍e � ce lieu d'échange et de communication, vous serez en lien permanent avec les forums anglophone (plus de 3000 inscrits !), allemand, espagnol et japonais. Vous aurez ainsi la possibilité d'échanger librement sur tous les sujets liéSs aux flux de production et � l'optimisation des communications dans la cha絜e graphique. Vous recevrez aussi régulièrement, en avant première, toutes les informations susceptibles de vous intéresser de la part de la direction de CIP4.
